About the Practitioner

LMT, TRS, Reiki III

Christina DelVaglio

As a practitioner of health and wellness via alternative medicines, I have many tools in my belt that I have collected along my journey.

My undergrad at Ithaca College and grad work at UNH was in Therapeutic Recreation, where I focused on the importance of a healthy leisure lifestyle for mental wellbeing and overcoming barriers to that lifestyle. I attended the Finger Lakes School of Massage, where my passion for learning the body, mind and spirit connection flourished. My passions are in working with that trio to help people on their health and wellness journey.

Naturally continuing education for my massage license had taken me down a path that works with that trio and finding the root cause for people's issues. We all have the same stuff and when you look at

how the body has to stack everything on your feet with gravity on us, there are only so many tension patterns one could have. The difference is knowing where the lynch pin is, for the layer you are working on and being open to what's going to release it.

I got into working with the psoas more and abdominal work, kinesiology taping, breath work, fascia, trauma release from the body, started getting more energy work and one day, my awesome coworker, gave me a Craniosacral Therapy (CST) session. That's when it all clicked. It was body, mind and energy work. I had to learn more.  So I signed up for my first class with Upledger Institute and kept going. I had also started an intensive energy work training which really amplified and expedited many aspects of my inner work and journey as a practitioner.

Each class built upon the last and by the time I completed the second Somato Emotional Release (SER) class, I think CST is the absolute best and don't understand why its not mandatory for everyone. Then I decided to take the pediatrics course and was absolutely blown away.

In the pediatrics class, students are responsible for getting littles and families for the practice times, and our own families were an option.  I already had the understanding that working on yourself, helps your kids, but this was next level to be able to treat a family unit all at once. That class was such a gift to our family and a skill I am so excited to share with others.

Every class with Upledger, even being a teaching assistant, makes me love this work more. It is truly magical what being neutral, curiousity and gentle hands can do for a person's health and wellness.

My Treatment Approach

From a bodywork perspective...

I use bodywork, Craniosacral Therapy, energy work, fascia therapy, the meridians and your story. All of these modalities help me to assess, treat and evaluate. The goal is to quiet the noise in your body, mind and energy field so you can heal yourself.

From a healthy lifestyle perspective...

I look at your selfcare habits, leisure activities, diet/hydration, movement choices, house/beauty products, clothing/footwear. Because all these areas ultimately affect your overall health and wellness. They affect your body's ability to function, your mind, hormones, mobility, even your energy field. If these areas are clouded, it makes doing the inner work harder.

A Medicine Woman's Prayer

I will not rescue you,

For you are not powerless.

I will not fix you,

For you are not broken.

I will not heal you,

For I see you in your wholeness.

I will walk with you through your darkness,

As you remeber your light.
